Meet Alla and Sarah- RAI’s Artists in Residency
Rwanda Arts Initiative (RAI) in partnership with the Kigali Goethe Institut hosts Alla Popp and Sarah Wenzinger, who are guest Artists in Residency.
The two Artists who flew in on November 5 are embarking onto a month of collaborative projects to incorporate Rwandan Artists through hands-on workshops, with themes exploring different methods of storytelling to create new artistic narrations about the society’s past, present and future.
Residency program is part of the RAI’s programs of offering space to both local and guest Artists in the spirit of harnessing Artistic projects.
Sarah Wenzinger is a project director and artist-researcher from Berlin. She studied theater directing at the HFS Ernst Busch and conceived free performances and participatory collaborative projects with contemporary art institutions. In her work, she explores immersive forms between performance, ritual, politics, and discourse at the Intersections and blanks of the working systems.
Alla Popp is a digital media and performance artist with a background in state administration and Master of Science degree in political management. Born in Russia, she studied digital art and media at the University of Art and Design Offenbach. Her work is mainly focused on the emancipatory potential of the digital technology for the future of humanity at large.
