The Founder and Artistic Director
Dorcy Rugamba is a play writer, director and performer. He holds a Masters in Drama from The “Conservatoire Royal de Liège”. He is the author of critically aclaimed plays Bloody Niggers, Market Place, Gamblers, co-author of “Rwanda 94”. As an actor Dorcy Rugamba performed in several productions like Darwin Hotel, Tierno Bokar, Timon of Athens, Fire Next time and conducted international workshops for actors and directors in Belgium, Usa, Uk, Italy, Rwanda and Senegal. In 2001, Dorcy founds the company Urwintore. In 2005 with Rwandan actors of Urwintore, he directs “ The Investigation” in international tour. In 2012, he officially created RAI, based in Kigali, Rwanda.
Mr. Gakumba Paul is a specialist in Project planning and management which he has a masters degree in from the University of Nairobi. He is experienced with working with NGOs where he worked for projects like the Master card foundation. He has experience working with youth and young entrepreneurs.
Ms. Florence Umutoni has a Masters degree in Project Planning and Management with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. She worked with both local and international NGOs in the finance and program area, from 5 years in world vision, 2 years with Lawyers of hope, and currently the Finance manager in RAI.
The Communication officer is responsible for managing all internal and external communications for the organisation to ensure better collaboration between RAI and all stakeholders.
He advises RAI on the different laws concerning the NGOs in Rwanda and can be helpful to artists and their work in regards to the laws.
